  • Beef Patties Italian Style

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkt Spaghetti (8oz) Salt to taste
    • 1 x Clove of garlic, chopped
    • 1 x Green pepper, cut into strip
    • 1 Tbsp. Fresh oregano, minced or possibly
    • 1 tsp Dry oregano, crumbled
    • 1/4 lb Sliced cheese, provolone or possibly Mozzarella or possibly fontina
    • 1 lb Grnd beef
    • 1 lrg Onion, sliced
    • 1/2 lb Fresh mushrooms, sliced
    • 16 ounce Spaghetti sauce (1 jar)

    Directions

    1. Cook spaghetti. Meanwhile, shape grnd beef into 4 oval patties about 1/2-inch thick. In large skillet, fry patties till browned on both sides.
    2. Sprinkle with salt. Remove patties to platter. Add in onion to drippings in pan and cook till tender. Add in garlic, mushrooms and peppers. Cook till tender crisp. Drain off fat. Stir the oregano and spaghetti sauce into vegetables and heat to boiling. Simmer for 1 minute. Return beef patties to skillet. Top each with a cheese slice and heat through. Drain spaghetti Place on plate. With pancake turner, transfer patties and sauce over spaghetti. Garnish with fresh oregano, if you like. SERVES 4.
