  • Beef Gravy Mix

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/3 c. Instant nonfat lowfat milk pwdr
    • 3/4 c. Instant flour
    • 3 Tbsp. Instant beef bouillon granules
    • 1/8 tsp Grnd thyme, (I do not like this and usually leave it out)
    • 1/4 tsp Onion pwdr
    • 1/8 tsp Grnd sage
    • 1/2 c. Butter or possibly margarine
    • 3 tsp Brown sauce for gravy
    • 1 c. Cool water
    • 1/2 c. Beef gravy mix

    Directions

    1. Makes about 2 2/3 c.
    2. Combine lowfat milk pwdr, flour, bouillon granules, thyme, onion pwdr, and sage. Stir with a wire whisk to blend. Use a pastry blender or possibly 2 knives to cut in butter or possibly margarine till proportionately distributed. Drizzle brown sauce for gravy over mix. Stir with wire whisk till blended. Spoon into a 3 c. container with atight fitting lid. Label withh date and contents. Sotre in refrigerator. Use within 4 to 6 weeks.
    3. TO MAKE BEEF GRAVY: Pour water into a small saucepan. Use a whisk to stir beef gravy mix into water. Stir constantly over medium heat till gravy is smooth and slightly thiickened, 2 to 3 min.
    4. Makes about 1 c..
