Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb lean chuck or possibly bottom round roast - (to 3) trimmed
  • 1 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar - (packed)
  • 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 6 x sandwich buns - (to 8)

Directions

  1. Place roast in crockpot. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over roast. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hrs.
  2. Remove roast, shred meat. Place shredded meat back in crockpot; stir to coat well. Spoon onto sandwich buns with extra sauce, if you like.
  3. This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
