Basic Bread Dough For Stuffed Bread
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Yeast
- 1 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 x Egg
- 3 3/4 c. Flour
- 1/2 stk Butter melted
Directions
- In a large bowl stir yeast into 1 c. lukewarm water till dissolved. Let sit till small bubbles form around edges. Whisk in sugar, salt and egg till thoroughly blended. Using a wooden spoon, stir in flour and butter till dough comes together. Mix gently with your hands till it forms a smooth ball of dough. Return dough to cleaned bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise till doubled, about 1 1/2 hrs.
- Turn out dough onto work surface and gently squeeze out air bubbles. Fill and shape as desired.
- This recipe yields dough for 1 loaf of bread.
