Barbecued Beef Strips
Ingredients
- 3 pound beef round steak, cut 3/4" thick
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 c. veg. oil
- 1/2 c. minced onions
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 12 hamburger buns
Directions
- Partially freeze round and cut into strips 1/8 inch thick and about 3 inches long. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Dredge strips of beef in seasoned flour and brown lightly in veg. oil. Pour off drippings. Add in onion and water, cover tightly and cook slowly 30 min.
- Add in barbecue sauce and sliced mushrooms. Cover and continue cooking slowly 30 min, stirring occasionally. Serve on hamburger buns.
