If you are a lover of the Southern dessert “banana pudding”, you will love this dessert pizza. Nothing is better than a big bowl of the traditional Southern version of “banana pudding” at the end of a meal. Made with vanilla wafers, vanilla pudding, bananas, whipped cream or meringue it is usually the dessert of choice at most gatherings. With that in mind, I decided to make my this one of my dessert pizzas this month to reflect that Southern tradition. I hope you enjoy my version!

    Ingredients

    • 1 package sugar cookie mix (17.5 ounces)
    • 1 stick butter
    • 1 egg
    • 1 package instant banana pudding mix (3.9 ounce)
    • 2 cups milk
    • 2 cups Cool Whip, thawed at room temperature
    • 3 medium sized bananas

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees . Prepare a medium sized (12″) pizza pan with cooking spray.
    2. Mix the sugar cookie according to package directions, using the butter and egg. Spread the cookie mixture on the pizza pan evenly so that it covers the entire pan. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Bake until it is a light golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely.
    3. In a mixing bowl combine pudding mix and milk according to package directions. Once the cookie has cooled, spread the pudding evenly over the cookie. Slice bananas and place on top of pudding. Spread Cool Whip over the banana layer. If you love bananas put another layer of bananas on the Cool Whip Layer. Cut the pizza into 8-12 pieces.
