  • Baked French Toast

    Ingredients

    • 16 slc Loaf french bread, cubed
    • 6 ounce Cream cheese, cubed
    • 4 Tbsp. Maple syrup, divided
    • 2 c. Lowfat milk
    • 12 x Large eggs

    Directions

    1. Spray 9" x 13" casserole dish with Pam or possibly other vegetable spray. Put one layer of bread in casserole dish. Layer cubed cream cheese on top of bread and add in the second layer of bread. Pour 2 Tbsp. maple syrup over layered bread and cream cheese.
    2. Beat Large eggs, maple syrup, and lowfat milk. Pour egg, lowfat milk and maple syrup mix over bread and press bread into egg mix with spatula. Sprinkle with nutmeg, cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
    3. Preheat oven to 350 and bake on center rack for 45 min or possibly till toothpick comes out clean. Place aluminum foil over top during last 10 min if top becomes brown.
    4. Yield: 8 servings
    5. Tip: Serve with pure maple syrup
