Autumn’s Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 8 medium size apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • For Crumble:
  • 1 cup crunched toasted cornflake cereal
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons AP flour

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Butter ceramic tart plate and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl toss together apples, raisins and sugar.
  4. In separate bowl combine all ingredients called for the crumble. Mix with hands or fork, until crumbly.
  5. Align the apple mixture at the bottom of tart dish and sprinkle crumble over the top.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until crumb topping is browned and apples are bubbling around the sides.
  7. Remove and let cool on a cooling rack.
  8. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
