  • Autumn Fruit Crisp

    Ingredients

    • 1 c. Granulated sugar, divided
    • 1 c. All-purpose flour
    • 2 tsp Anise seeds
    • 1/2 tsp Grnd ginger
    • 1/2 c. Cool butter,cut into cubes
    • 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
    • 1 tsp Cinnamon
    • 6 x Apples, peeled,cored and thinly sliced
    • 4 x Pears,peeled,cored and thinly sliced
    • 2 c. Cranberries

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, stir together 3/4 c. sugar, flour, anise seeds and ginger till well combined. Using your fingers, blend in butter till mix is in pea-sized pcs.
    2. In a medium bowl, stir together remaining sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Toss with apples, pears and cranberries in a large bowl.
    3. Turn into a dish about 10 inches round and about 2 inches deep.
    4. Crumble topping over fruit. Set dish on a baking sheet to catch any spills and bake in preheated oven 1 to 1 1/4 hrs or possibly till topping is brown and filling is warm.
    5. Remove from oven and let stand 10 min before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or possibly frzn yogurt.
    6. Yield: 10
