Apple Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ C. Mazola oil
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 C. Flour, sifted
  • 1 t. Salt
  • 1 t. Baking soda
  • 2 t. Vanilla
  • 3 Apples (large), peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 C. Walnuts, chopped
  • Glaze
  • 1 Stick butter
  • ½ C. Brown Sugar
  • 2 t. Milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  2. Beat oil, sugar and eggs for three minutes. Add flour, slat, soda and vanilla. Beat well. Fold in apples and nuts.
  3. Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  4. Glaze
  5. Bring butter, brown sugar and milk to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Pour over cooled cake.
