Perfect for fall.Apple baking in the fall is the best thing!  There is just something about fall desserts. I don’t know if it is the cinnamon and other spices or what, but they get me every time!  Apple Spice Cupcakes are a perfect example, and that brown sugar frosting is just amazing.  The flavor of apple pie is perfect for just about anything.  It is great in these Apple Pie Bars and today we are turning it into bread! Apple Bread that is topped with chocolate, because chocolate is always a good idea. This Apple Pie Bread recipe is super simple to make.  It is full of of diced apples, so you get actual pieces in each bite.  I hate when you expect real apple, and it is just shredded apple that disappears in the background.  Plus chocolate.  There are chocolate chips throughout the bread and then and over the top struesel.  Streusel might be the best part of a lot of things.  Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake or one.  I mean, you can’t have coffee cake without struesel.  And this one has chocolate chips mixed in!  Talk about delicious!Apple bread is a classic fall treat that you are going to keep turning back to every year!  The bread part is a basic quick bread that uses a little buttermilk to make it super tender and moist.  The trick to getting the apples throughout the bread and not have them just sink to the bottom is to toss them with a little flour before adding to the batter.  Then you fold them in and they should spread evenly throughout the bread.  If you aren’t big on chocolate, what is wrong with you you could substitute walnuts or pecans for the chocolate.  Heck, even if you are a fan of chocolate, you could add nuts and it would be wonderful. The cinnamon and chocolate and soft apples make for a great combination.  Brings me back to the Apple Bars that my Grandma used to make every fall at her house.  I created a fun group on Facebook, and I would love for you to join us! It’s a place where you can share YOUR favorite recipes, ask questions, and see what’s new at Dinners, Dishes and Desserts (so that you never miss a new recipe)!
