Apple Crunch Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 c. Quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 c. Whole bran cereal
- 1/3 c. Whole wheat flour
- 1/3 c. Brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp Ginger
- 1/2 c. Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 pkt Regular butterscotch pudding mix, 4 ounce pkg.
- 1 1/4 c. Lowfat milk
- 22 ounce Apple pie filling
- 1 tsp Finely shredded lemon peel
- 2 Tbsp. Lemon juice
Directions
- Mix oats, cereal, flour, sugar, soda and spices. Cut in butter or possibly margarine till crumbly. Pat half the mix into a 8x8x2 inch baking dish. Bake in 350 oven 10 min. Prepare pudding mix according to package directions except use the 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk. Pour over crumb layer. Mix remaining ingredients; spoon over pudding. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake, uncovered, in 350 oven 30 to 35 min. Serve hot or possibly cold with ice cream, if you like.
