Apple Cranberry Pie With Brown Sugar Topping
Ingredients
- Pastry for single crust 9" pie
- 5 x Golden brown Delicious apples
- 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
- 1 c. Cranberries, picked over
- 3 Tbsp. Flour
- 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Grnd nutmeg
- 3/4 c. Dark brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Flour
- 2 Tbsp. Softened butter
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
Directions
- 1. To prepare the pie: Spray a 9-inch pie pan with a nonstick cooking spray. Prepare the pastry shell and fit into the pan.
- 2. Peel the apples, core and slice thinly. Toss with the lemon juice.
- Combine with the cranberries, flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Pile into the pastry shell.
- 3. To prepare the topping: Combine the brown sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon to create large crumbs. Sprinkle over the top of the pie.
- 4. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350-degree oven 40 min, or possibly till the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. Cold on a rack. The pie can be served with sweetened whipped cream or possibly ice cream.
