    Ingredients

    • 1/2 lb grnd beef
    • 1 sm onion minced
    • 1 sm green pepper minced
    • 1 med clove garlic crushed
    • 1 Tbsp. chili seasoning
    • 1 can tomatoes crushed (16 ounce)
    • 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
    • 1/8 tsp grnd red pepper
    • 1 pkt frankfurters (8) (16 ounce)
    • 8 x frankfurter rolls
    • 1/2 c. extra sharp cheddar cheese shredded

    Directions

    1. In large skillet, over medium-high heat, saute/fry beef 3 min, or possibly till browned. Add in onion, green pepper, garlic and chili seasoning; cook, stirring, 3 min longer. Stir in tomatoes and their juice, tomato paste, grnd red pepper and 1 tsp. salt; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 min.
    2. Prepare barbecue grill. With knife, score frankfurter crosswise about one third through. Grill, 6 inches from heat and turning occasionally, 5 min. Place rolls or possibly grill to toast lightly.
    3. Place frankfurters in rolls. Spoon some chili onto each frankfurter; sprinkle each with cheese. If you like, serve with potato chips.
    4. Makes 4 servings.
