About me
I like to cook, entertain, and take pictures. And love to share any hints, ideas and techniques with others. I was taught how to cook using the basics, and I employ that knowledge when I lead cooking demonstrations. I also love to have friends come over and cook with me. I host a monthly gathering where people are encouraged to bring an appetizer to share, or whatever they care to bring. Which also gives me a great excuse to try new dishes and techniques.
Cooking Influences
My mother was a good cook, she taught all of her children how to cook and as a result, we all eat well. My background is Danish, but thanks to my mom and sibs, I love just about every cuisine I've been introduced to. I cook Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Italian, French, Canadian and Southern. Yup, Southern, I've discovered it's a whole new world of flavours and techniques. I'm also lucky enough to live in an area which is populated by a lot of great cooks who love to share their food.
