About me

I am the corporate Chef and co-owner of Tony's Markets in the Denver Metro Area - www.TonysMarket.com. I also spent 10 years as a newspaper food columnist before switching to television in 1999. Now I teach cooking on the weekend news for the local ABC affiliate (KMGH TV Denver) as well as Get the Dirt and Dig In, homegrown local gardening and cooking shows. I'm also honored to work with the US Meat Export Federation, teaching and performing for international guests.

Cooking Influences

Originally I learned cooking from my Mom, who made it quite clear that..."If I expect some woman is going to take care of me someday, I've got another thing coming!" I started in food business in 1976 and have never looked back. The last 20 years of my vacation time has been spent traveling to Europe and Asia to study food, wine and cooking, which has helped me gain a good overall understanding of the why's and how's of foods in a variety of cultures. Today I focus on great ingredients in simple preparations using a wide variety of flavors and my overall goals are to make delicious and healthy cooking approachable to all.
