About me

I feel like I've been cooking all of my life, both of my parents are really good cooks and put the bug in me. In my early 20's I realized that I was pretty good at it, when Food TV came along I was hooked. When people ask me where I went to cooking school I say: "Food TV and my parents house".

My other passion is music (listening to it, playing it, singing, writing) but if I had to choose between cooking & making music I'd have to choose cooking. God forbid I ever have to choose though because music is in my blood.

Now I am a wife and mother and author of a cookbook called "All You Need is Food - A Scrapbook of Food & Music". This book is almost 250 pages with over 180 of my original recipes. It also has contributions of stories, lyrics, musings, doodles and sketches by musicians and artists from all over America, as well as amazing cover art by Aaron Burtch from the indie band Grandaddy. This book is all about supporting local music and local art, shown side by side with recipes, reflection, creativity and humor. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by many talented musicians and artists, and I am honored to combine my culinary art with theirs.

There are thousands of cookbooks in print and just as many books about music, but I’ve yet to see one book that combines food and music together. My recipes and notes along with stories written by artists and musicians are weaved throughout the book giving it a fun scrapbook feel.

All of the recipes here on CookEatShare are in the book plus many, many more! Purchase your own copy by visiting my website at www.allyouneedisfood.com!

Marcus, mixing for 20 minutes with the sugar "cooks" the eggs, and it will then set in the fridge.

Hi. This may be a dumb question but in your Banana Split Pie Recipe, does the crust get baked since the mixture has raw eggs in it? Or does the 20 minutes of mixing sort of do that? Looks like a great recipe and thanks!
