About me

In addition to being the voice behind The Spiced Life, I am a stay at home mom. I am completely unable to put myself in a box when it comes to food so I hope you’ll enjoy my jumping from a rich and indulgent chocolate dessert to a Thai curry to a Spanish tapas dish to Scottish shortbread. My idea of complete bliss is lying in the sun on the beach–and the fact that I don’t live near one probably explains a lot about my state of mind. Instead I live in a small college town in southwest Ohio somewhat in the middle of nowhere–but I can get to civilization in about 45 minutes. My favorite season is fall and then spring–I think I like looking forward to change more than either extreme. I regard January through November as merely being the warm-up to the Holidays.

Laura, I have been trying to access your "Butter Crunch Recipe 2 Ways" and it is not coming up. I have accessed it before and have made it a few times. It is one of the best recipes I have ever tried and I can say not one person who has tried it does not love it. Is there anyway you could e-mail it to me? Hi Laura, I am new to this CookEatShare website. I was looking up sponge cake and found your chocolate sponge cake - sounds great.   Thanks for welcome. I actually have 2 Moroccan dishes coming up soon on my blog although it is true I have yet to preserve lemons. I'm extra excited about Moroccan food right now because I'm heading there this summer!
