Konbu Maki
Traditional Japanese finger food found often in Hawaii. Ingredients
- 1 (4oz) pkg dried seaweed strips
- 2 (1/2 oz.) pkg kanpyo
- 1 large burdock root
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 1/2 lbs pork butt
- 4 c dashi
- 1 1/4 c soy sauce
- 1/2 c mirin
- 1/2 c packed brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic
- crushed ginger root
- 1/2 tsp msg
Directions
- pork, carrots and root need to be cut to the same length in strip that can be wrapped by the seaweed
- leave all these ingredients soaking in water until ready to assemble rolls
