Kalisounakia (Greek cheese turn overs)
Prep: 20 min Cook: 25 min Servings: 1by Ella Mangelos Velthoen64 recipes>This is a great appetizer, a little bit of work, but always is a hit with people. You can cheat by using Won Ton wrappers instead of making your own filo dough. I just love making my dough and running it through my Kitchen-aid mixer pasta maker but it is lots of work to do so. I will leave it to you to decide your choice. The dough is simply flour, water, olive oil, lemon juice and salt. Flour about 3 cups, 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup lemon juice, tsp salt and warm water, enough water to pull dough to the middle of your food processor. Add it slowly and when it became a ball, STOP !!! Ingredients
- 1 lb Ricotta cheese
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 Cup chopped mint (optional)
- 1/2 lb cream cheese
- 1/4 Cup Feta cheese
- 1/4 Cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Blend all cheeses together
- Add eggs and continue to blend
- Place filo or Won ton dough on counter (either rounds or squares)
- Place a tablespoon of filling in middle of dough and moisten edges of dough with water
- Bring sides up and pinch to close
- Place on parchment covered cookie sheet
- Brush with egg wash add sesame if you'd like
- Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until golden serve cold or hot
